Language: Earth

How would you like to be able to go nearly anywhere on the planet and be able to communicate with the people there? Call me crazy, but I think it would be a great idea for every school in the world to teach their national language as well as a new language I will call Earth. We could come up with a language, or simply convert everybody to speak...Chinese? To be fair, and so nobody complains we could also just develop a completely new language or divert back to latin.
I know this may seem crazy, but it could be quite a powerful tool if you go get off the airplane basically anywhere a major airline can take you and the people will instantly greet you with a language you can actually understand. Knowledge would spread much more rapidly and with more ease than before. People on this planet can begin to feel more one with others all across the globe.
If we start now, within a few generations this could happen. In a perfect little world, this would be how it worked. However, people are stubborn and those in high power generally don't want the majority of the population to be educated, so this is more unlikely to happen than getting struck by lightning and winning the lottery on the same day.
