For the longest time, I had never really thought about eating meat and its effects on our world. I was, and continue to be an omnivore but more recently I have started to think about what it means when we order a burger from our favorite spot.
Earlier I thought people who didn't eat meat did so because they felt bad for the animals. I now realize that there are many other reasons not to eat meat. One reason is that the land that people use to raise cattle could be used to plant a hell of a lot more vegetables. Also, don't forget the energy and resources wasted to process the meat. Then there's the animal rights argument.

I don't think I will ever go completely vegetarian. After all, humans are meat eaters. I love me a good steak or a venison burger. Its just important that people know the impact of eating meat. I think eating meat sparingly is the way to go!
