A quick thought. I would argue that if you could not actually bear to take an axe and cut a chicken's head off then you have no business eating a wing. This would go for all animals, of course. Could you put a .357 magnum in a cow's head? (Sorry for the brutal image my Hindu friends) If the answer is no, then no steaks or burgers for you! Couldn't hurt a cute little piggy, bye bye bacon with those eggs. [eating eggs isn't pleasant if you think about it, they come out of vaginas].
The point that I'm trying to make is that it's important to know where your food is coming from. Whether or not you actually do the slaughtering, you are contributing to that animal's death. Just because you pay somebody else to take the blood off your hands doesn't mean that the blood hasn't been shed.
I will also add that I, in fact, would kill the animal myself. I have no real issue with that. I think that if you do have an issue with that, and you aren't a vegetarian, then you are a hypocrite and a coward. I have hunted before and would love to hunt again. The difference is that I recognize that this piece of meat was once actually a living, breathing animal. I understand and appreciate the sacrifice that has been made. Not as hardcore as the Native Americans would've but... At least give it a thought.
