My New Personal Buzzword

Fitness. But not just as in physical fitness as you saw with a few of my previous posts. What I'm talking about here is overall fitness. In addition to physical fitness, recently I've been interested in developing my financial fitness, a fit mind, and just an overall sense of well being. I believe that being sloppy in one area results in other areas not performing up to standard. Like a machine, each little piece plays a vital role in the output of the whole.
With that said, I will be concentrating on paying off all my credit card debt, reading more often, meditation, and I want to lose a significant amount of body fat by the end of summer.
My credit card debt is between 2.5 and 5k, which isn't a lot for most folks. However, it's driving me crazy! It just sucks knowing I owe somebody else money. I like Mint to take care of my personal finances. It tracks my spending, shows me trends, and offers tips and guidance.
As for reading, I plan on focusing on reading books, magazines, blogs in the areas I'm trying to improve, as well as those centered on my career in marketing.
Meditation is something I struggle with. Who wants to sit around and not think? A lot of us need to but it's harder than you think. Baby steps.
Physical fitness also includes a healthy diet. I am interested in eating mostly organic, but haven't committed to it 100%. It would be easy for me to say that the expensive nature of it is a barrier but in reality that's an excuse. It costs way more in the long run to be unhealthy. Chemo isn't the cheapest thing out there. Yeah, I'll go for the organic. Exercise is the other half of this equation and with summer upcoming I will definitely be a lot more active. I use BodyBuilding.com to help me. I like to think that I sort of hibernate in the winter. Get fat to stay warm. It usually looks good by the end of fall but then I just get fat again. Once again, another excuse. I'm not that mad.

So here's to all that. What things are you doing? What a better day to start than today!
