Ghetto Dreamin'

Packing some boxes and found some old notebooks of random things I've written from back in the day. Ever since high school it's been a here and there thing. None of it is necessarily good, but it is what it is. Just gotta put thoughts on paper sometimes.

Poverty, low cost housing, broken down cars.

no fathers, children raised with nothing but scars

stealing for food, killing for fun;

youths raised to live and die by the gun.

but searching deeper, where not even 20/20 eyes could see,

through all the boarded windows and other debri,

friendships bonded with the thickest of concrete.

Perhaps it's corporate america that has begun to deplete.

Greed and money runs every aspect of lives;

getting rich is not where we should strive.

Spend a week in the ghetto and your views will be slanted

where money and food can't be taken for granted.
